Jono Sparks-Franklin

Jono Sparks-Franklin is the founder and director of Third Way Peace Fellowship. He is a cisgender/heterosexual male who uses he/him pronouns. Prior to his work at Third Way, Jono worked in academia after receiving his PhD in Religious Studies (Indiana University) and two Masters Degrees in Theology (Princeton and United Theological Seminary). He still currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Theology at Xavier University. Jono is currently in the process of ordination with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is a postulant in the Ecumenical Order of Franciscans.

An educator at heart, Jono’s primary role at Third Way is facilitating various education events and conversations about political theology and the spirituality of nonviolent activism.  While he is actively involved in all of our community mutual aid projects, his primary passion is teaching and leading our ART (Activist Reading Theology) and Honest to God discussion groups.

Jono loves helping secular/postmodern people explore the spiritual and theological dimensions of justice work from radical Christian perspectives.
