Third Way Northside

Northside Open Fridge

The Northside Open Fridge is a grassroots mutual aid project allowing neighbors to provide each other with 24/7 access to free and ready-to-eat food. Our updated Fridge shelter includes a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dry goods pantry, and hot/cold water tank. Take what you need. Leave what you can.

Interested in contributing to the Open Fridge? Know of a local business or organization that might want to donate? Don’t hesitate to reach out!

Meet your Volunteer Coordinator:

Amy Sweeny

Hi! I’m Amy, a mom who loves to yap with a heart for helping others! That’s why I jumped at the chance to coordinate volunteers for the Free Food Fridge. I live in Northside with my family, and I’ve never loved a city more than this one. When the opportunity arose to support a cause I’m passionate about, I couldn’t say no!

With a background in project management and marketing, I love using my skills—along with my deep passion for community—to make a positive impact in the neighborhood.

Outside of my volunteer work, I’m a proud mom who loves spending time outdoors with my kid. Nothing makes me happier than a family walk on a beautiful day. I’m also a big supporter of the arts in Cincinnati, you’ll often find me at Blink, Final Fridays, or catching a concert at Music Hall. And when I’m not outside with my family, you can bet I’m shopping small at one of the many amazing local spots Cincinnati has to offer.

If you ever see me around, stop and say hi—I love to yap!

Peace Potluck

A free weekly community potluck where EVERYONE (not just volunteers) is invited to cook together, eat together, and clean up together. Neighbors are also invited to bring a dish of their own to share. This meal is not an act of charity where “we” feed “them.” It is an act of solidarity and community building where everyone participates and works together to meet each other's needs.

WHEN: Every Thursday from 6p-8p
WHERE: Annette’s House
4234 Hamilton Ave (First Floor)
