Dr. Jono Sparks-Franklin is the founder and director of Third Way Peace Fellowship. In addition to his work at Third Way, he is an Assistant Professor of Religion, Philosophy, and Peace Studies at Wilmington College. Active in Wilmington College’s Prison Education Program, he also teaches courses with incarcerated students on the theory and practice of nonviolence, nonviolent spirituality, and nonviolent conflict resolution. He is a candidate for ordination with Presbyterian Church (USA).
An educator at heart, Jono’s primary role at Third Way is facilitating various educational events and theological gatherings. While he is actively involved in all of our community mutual aid projects and daily programming, he particularly enjoys hosting conversations about political theology, social change, and the spirituality of nonviolent activism at Third Way Base Community. Jono loves helping secular/postmodern people explore the spiritual and theological dimensions of activism and justice work from radical Christian perspectives.
